PAREMATA.

NEW CORONATION HALL. On Monday night the new Coronation Hall afc Paremata was formerly opened by Mr. W. H. Field, when an enjpyable "social" and dance was held. Despite the rough weather, about 120 ladies and gentlemen from all part*, of the district were present. Messrs. E. Bolton and W. Galloway acted us M.C.'s. Music was supplied by Mrs. Curtice and Messrs. A. and F. Bradey, and a song was given by Miss Carter, of Porirua. Councillor W. Galloway, who had ehown much energy in pushing on the work of erection of the hall, epoke on behalf of thD Hutt County Council, and briefly introduced Mr. Field. The latter gentleman, who had done much to further the work, in getting the Government subsidy and in other ways, spoke of the pleasure 4t ga\e him to bo present, and congratututed the district upon the energy and public spirit and local enteiprise bhown. He was followed by Mr. E. L. Burmese, who said the hall wae built ior lecrcation purposes aud for holding meeting, and it was hoped religious services might be held on Simda-js or some other day, and a Sunday rchuol started. The contract for tha building -vva-s \cry capably executed by .Mr. J. F>uckl;tnd. Credit is dua to Mr- L. I'ranklMi for his energy in, gutting subscriptions and as chairman . of various meetings, and to the other member« of the committee. Thanks is also dv» to "Jessi's. Bradcy Bros., the ov.'ncit> of the land., for their services and kindness. Tlie hall waa tribtofully decorated with flu^s by Me» dame 6 Sarcich and ' Lambert, and" looked very nice, and the whoio affair was a great success. _ The ' catering arrangements were carried out by Mr. E. Boulton, of Paremata. The secretarial duties were in tho hands of Mr. It. W. Barry.
