The Advlaory Cricket Committee resolved that if a player under the residential qualification goes abroad, when he returns he shall retain his county qualification, provided he has not, re« presented any British colony or State during his absence. [In February, 1906, rule 1, governing county cricket, was, on the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, extended by tin. M.C.C., tht. immediate cause being the fact that Tarrant (formerly of VictoriaJ had played against an England eleven in Australia. The rule wae made to read :—"1.:—"1. A dricketer may not play for more than one county within, the calendar year; the penalty for -an infringement of this rule to be disqualification for two years. A British colony, dependency, .or State shall, for the purposes of this rule, bs regarded as a county :"]
