Asia Minor and a modern Greek town with a population of some 20,000. It was caused by the action of the gendarmes in attempting to prevent the Liberals from voting. Twenty people were killed and fifty were injured, chiefly Liberal Mussulmans. The newspaper Meesager Athens accuses the Young Turks of jerrymandering th» elections with a view to excluding from the Ottoman Chamber all prominent Greeks and Liberal candidates of various nationalities.
