The townsfolk at Braganza, near the north-east frontier, armed themselves with fowling-pieces in consequence N of misconduct on the part of some of the students, and attacked the students, who were armed with automatic pistols. AyA v desperate encounter ensued, and women armed withi stilettos joined in the fray. Five persons were killed and twentythree were wounded. The military re-established order and made many arrests.
