PERILOUS ADVENTURE.
fß_ TBtSQHAPH— PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. A party consisting of Mi\ and Mrs. E. R. Bloomfield and their little- daughter, and Mia. Kathbone and her daughter, had a perilous adventure when returning from tho Wcet Coast on Sunday last. In compeny with two other parties in motor cars, they were travelling a road along the face of a cliff with a 6heer drop of from 25ft to 30ft. Mr. Bloomfield's motor was driven to the edge of the road to avoid a quagmire. The ground gave way, and the car toppled over tho embankment and skidded until brought up by a tree. The occupants scrambled up the bank, leaving the car in a very dangerous position. A party was sent from town with gear which, proved inadequate.
