ANTI-MILITARISM.
MEETING OF LEAGUE. A meeting of the Anti-Conscription League (Wellington branch), , convened by Mr. H. Garlick, was held in the Socialists' Hall last ovening. Mr. 3?. H. Hickey was elected chairman. The secretary's report wae adopted.. An "executive committee was appointed. It was^ decided unanimously that a deputation should be appointed to Interview the various Labour conferences t<» be held in April on the subject of the scheme of compulsory military training. Other resolutions were : To issue petition forms with the object of getting up a Dominion petition to Parliament to repeal the Defence Act ; to hold a public meeting in Post Office Square on the Sunday after Easter J to endeavour to secure tho services of the organiser of the Christchurch League; to organise a passive registers' movement among the jouths liable for training; to hold meetings every month and to attend Court proceedings at tho prosecution of youths for , offences against th* Act. A collection was taken among the thirty persons present in aid of funds for tho movement.
