The weather is perfect, and as a very complete plan, of compaign is being mapped oat, a record collection is anticipated. Mr. Sinclair Macalister was to-day admitted; as a solicitor of the Supreme! Court by the Chief Justice, on" the motion of Mr. A. W. Blair. It is understood that a Wellington syndicate is anxious to lay down a tram service in Petone. It is stated that the syndicate is applying to the council for running rights, and that the matter will come up for consideration shortly. Approval was given by the Wellington Land Board yesterday of the Union Steam Ship Co.'s request to occupy Jot 7, section 216, City of Wellington, for a further period of three months, as from 16th March last. The rent was unchanged. It is at the rate of £322 Is 8d per annum. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop appeared for petitioner in the divorce case, Annie Maria Baker v. Herbert James Baker, of Wei lington, before the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Skmt) to-day. A decree nisi had been issued and a decree absolute was now desired. Tho application was granted, with custody of the children. The Tramways Band will play a piograrame of music at Newtown Park tomorrow afternoon.
