Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided I at to-day'« sitting of the Magistrate's j Court. Two first offenders, charged with insobriety, were dealt with. Thomas Horrison, lor a like "offence, -was made the subject of - a prohibition order at his j >wn request. Charged -with being a rogue and a ragahond, in that he was found by night >n premises (a brick kiln) without lawful excuse, John Shannon pleaded not guilty. Defendant said he was drunk when he #eTU>, to.this. place. His Worship warned aim to be more careful in future, and defendant was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Ono first offender at the Mount Cook Police Court to-day was fined 5s for drunkenness. Mr. Thomas Sland, J.P., i fias on the Bench. j
