SEVENTY MINERS ENTOMBED
TEN MEN RESCUED ALIVE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received March 27, 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, 26th March. At Welch, West Virginia, an explosion occurred at the mine of the Jed Coal and Coke Company. Seventy miners are entombed. Ten were rescued alive and one was got out dead. Strong hopes that the remaining men entombed will be rescued alive are entertained.
