WORSER BAY SWIMMING SPORTS
A pleasant afternoon's sport was conducted by tho Woreer Bay Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club on Saturday. Tho new clubhouse, at tho old Pilot Station, was thronged with swimmers and others taking part in tho 'events, and the building and its equipment wore favourable commented upon by visiting swimmers and other who had Been it far tho first time. There was a large attondanco of spectators. < Tho following aro- tho results of tho races: — Jirodio Cup (final), 150 yards.—Hampson, 1; Blick, 2; Woon, 3. Intor-club ,Bacq, 50 yards.—Campbell, 1; Smith, 2; Molton, 3. Boys' Racq (under 12).-— N. Blair, 1; N. Rowntreo, 2. Walker and Hall Cup (final).—Boll, 1; Doughty. 2; Jenkinsbn, 3. Ladieß' Race.—Mies Powell, 1; Misß Nosbit, 2. A lino display of life saving was given by the Lyall Bay Life Saving Club. The club has now 270 members, and appears to havo started its career of ufiefulnesd iii^ encouraging swimming 'and life saving in the wator- with ovory prospect of suecesß. _ Mr. D. Blair is patron; Mr. John Brodio (Mayor ,of Mirarnar), president,-, Mr. G. K. Greon, captain; Mr. R. T. 8011, secretary;' and Mr. H. Wyatt, treasurer. The club was greatly helped in making Saturday's function a success by a party of local ladies, who took charge of tho afternoon's tea arrangements.
