Cold and wet weather has been experienced* to most parts of the North Island, and heavy ram fell in the East Coast districts during the night. _ Conditions elsewhere have been generally fair to cloudy, but showery on the northeastern districts of the South Island. Southeasterly winds have predominated, and the force has decreased in most parts, but gales are still blowing on portions of the coasts northwards of Cape Eginont and Napier. A very heavy sea is reported at East Cape, and rough to heavy elsewhere on the east coast of the North Island.
