For some time the fishermen of Auck- , land have been receiving 2s 6d per , bundle for their fish, but on Friday the dealers notified the fishermen that in futurethe prices would be reduced to 2s. ] This, it is claimed, does not give a living wage, and at a meeting at which 311 ' fishermen were present it was decided to sell* fish direct to the public from the boats at the wharves at various points 1 of the harbour, starting on Monday next. AUCKLAND, This Day, In consequence of the disagreement between the Auckland fishermen and the j wholesale dealers about three hundred \ men are idle, and a large number of boat* laid up. The fishermen want 2s ; 6d per dozen and the dealers offer 2s.
