The attendance is fair. Results: — ' Trial Stakes, of 100 soys ; one mile.— Heatherbrae 1, Oratava 2, Aphaea 3. The only starters. Won easily by a length, three lengths between second and third horses, 'lime, lmin 40 2-ssec. Hornby Welter Handicap, of 100 sove ; seven furlongs. — Bonny Glen, 10.0, 1; Kilts, 9.9, 2; Foam Flake, 8.0, 3. Scratched — Odessa. Won without trouble by half a length, two lengths beUyeen second and third. GISBORNE MEETING. GISBORNE, This Day." The Gisborne Racing Club's meeting opened to-day in fine weather, and with a large attendance. Results: — First . Handicap Hurdles, of 80 soys ; one mile and a-half. — Continuance, 12.9, 1; Stourton, 9.13, 2; Game, 9.2, 3. Also started— Polynices, Donzel, Burton, Hunakaha, App'ellea, and Terahui. Won by a length. Time, 2min 46sec. Maiden Scurry, of 50 soys; four furlongs.— Manitou, 8.0, 1; Miss Jewell, 8.0, 2; Fagot, 8.0, 3. Seven others started. Won by a iengfch and a-half. Time, 50 3-ssec. Flying Handicap, of 100 soys; six furlongs.—Our Queen, 7.8, 1; Scorch, 8.3, 2; Winning Post, 7.9, 3. Also ran— Lord Possible,' Autoern, and Compliment. Won by a length and a-half. Time, lmin .14 4-ssec. In the Hurdles Polynices fell and broke a leg.
