PREMIER ASKED TO INTERVENE
SUGGESTED MEDIATION. Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh, M.P., who has taken a prominent part on the City Council in defence of the attitude of tho union, told a Post reporter last night at the council meeting that ha approached the Premier (Sir Joseph Ward), and urged him to ask the Tramways Union to invite Messrs. J. G. W. Aitken and T. W. Hislop, both ex-Mayors of Wellington, to mediate in tho tramway dispute. Sir Joseph adopted the suggestion, and wrote to the president of the Union (Mr. D.
