Dr. Sun Vat Sen, President of the Chinese Republic, in a friendly message to General Yuan Shih-Kai, clears up the misunderstanding between them. ARMS AND AMMUNITION FOR PEKIN. (Received January 27, 11.5 a.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, 26th Jan. Two thousand rifles and five million rounds of ammunition from Germany have passed through Russia for Pekin. ABDICATION POSTPONED. REVOLUTIONARY LEADERS MURDERED. PEKIN, 26th January.. The Throne has created General Yuan Shih-Kai a Marquis. An edict has been issued postponing the abdication of the Throne pending a decision by the National Convention. The edict reiterates that the Throne desires a peaceful solution of the pre-, sent difficulty. There has been a revulsion of feeling in favour of Yuan Shih-Kai and against Tieh Liang, whom the Manchu papers designate as a truculent madman, who desires to repeat the Boxer outrages of 1900. - Chang Yang, a-> revolutionary leader, his brother, and his secretary, were murdered at Mukden. Other assassinations are reported. The Republicans at Yangtse have captured ,Toina, the Merchant Steamship Company's accountant, and are holding him for a high ransom.
