There has been a strange occurrence in the Gurdie's River. / ' The water became' white with froth, which afterwards turned to green slime. F^sh died, and cattle refused to drink the water.The phenomenon is supposed to have been the result of a volcanic disturbance. A similar thing happened twenty years ago. \
