WATERSIDE WORKERS.
TO IMS EDITOR. Sir, —Commenting on the question as to whether the-Wellington watersiders intend to cancel their registration under the Arbitration Act or not, I may that tho question is unanswerable. I notice in your issue of even date you mention that it is rumoured that those who are aspiring to offico intend -to bar out this question of a ballot being held or. the subject.. Now, sir, I being one of tho contestants absolutely deiiy having made any objection to a poll being held. Please be good enough to insert this correction for me. I am cognisant of tho fact that, recently our union has affiliated with the Federation of Labour (Miners' Federation), and that their constitution is not in accord with tho tenets of tho Arbitration Act. It does not follow that we shall forfeit tho right to fix the day when we shall abandon this abortion of industrial law, or in any manner, surrender self-government of our union to thai viz., tho Federation of Labour as registered.—l am, etc., . JOHN LARWOOD. Wellington, 16th November, ,1911.
