LORD ISLINGTON IN NELSON.
BAD WEATHER; [BY TBISGItAPE—PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] NELSON, This Day. His Excellency the Governor (Lord Islington) arrived last evening from ElcnneiTn on an official visit to "Nelson. He is en route to the West Coast. Ad official welcome to His Excellency was given by the Mayor. There was a large attendance* of the public, despite a pouriu" rain, which upset all fixtures. It had been intended that His Excellency should make a tour of the Motueka orchard* to-day, but the trip was impossible. If the weather mends, he may visit the Stoke orchard?,- in the neighbourhood of the city. After the reception the Governor visited the colleger.. To-morrow he will attend the agricultural show, and be entertained at a banquet in the evening. He proceeds to the West Coast on Thursday if the weather permits.
