One intoresting report mentioned by the Evenijig Times representative is that Mr. Asquith will soon be elevated to the peerage. He will then retire, from the Premiership, and will, as the report goes, he succeeded by Mr. ,Lloyd George, peeent Chancellor, although it is well KMown that Mr. Winston Churchill would like to get the leadership of the Liberal Party. Mr. Asquith's retirement was predicted lately by a Liberal paper, wnen the denial that was given to the r^port^ was only a half-hearted one. - It i» further rumoured that Lord Haldane, Secretary for War. will shortly replace ( Lord Loreburn as Lord High Chancellor, and tlia.t Sir Rufus Isaacs, Attorney will succeed Lord Alverstono as Lord Chief Justice.
