The barometer lias fallen japidly in the South, and -the winds have changed by west to a, northerly direction, in all parts of the «onnti'y, with moderate gales reported at several places this morning southward of New Plymouth and Cantlepoint Thunderstorms occorxed on both the west and east coasts of the South Island during the night. Fleshes are reported in. the rivers on the West Coast of the South IslacJ, and considerable seas on most parts of the west coast. Changeable weather has prevailed, with increasing cloudiness, especially southward of New l'lymouth and Napier.
