FORECAST. At 9 a.m. the following forecast wai luue* tor the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds,— Moderate to> strong southerly winds will probably prevail, and back by west to Increasing northerlies southward of Hokltika and Kaikoura after from 16 to 24 hours. Barometer.— Rise slowly northward of New Plymouth and Napier; fall elsewhere after from about 16 hours. Sea,— Heavy on all the -western coast; considerable swell between East Cape and Kaikoura; moderate elsewhere.
