The steamer Falls of Orchj has been chartered by the Vacuum Oil Company to leave New York late this month for Auckland, Napier, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dnnedln with ca«e oil. Th& Karma, which is due from Napier tomorrow morning, will leave Wellington the pame evening for Westport to load coal for the Admiralty for delivery at Thursday Island. Mr. Klchardson, late of the Taviunl, has transferred to the Makura as second officer in place of Mr. L. B. Woden, i who arrived from Sydney by the Warrlmoo last night for orders. „ The barque Helen Denny, which is bound from Newcastle to Lyttelton, passed Stephens Island on Tuesday afternoon, signalling "ail well." The Ulimaroa, which is due at Wellington to-morrow from Melbourne, Hobart, and southern ports, has CSO tons of cargo to put out before .sailing at 6 p.m. for Sydney direct. Mr. R. Beveridee, second enginjeer of the Maori, is acting chief Of the Takapuna. The barque Mataura will get away from Wellington, the first thing next week for Westport to load coal for Matupi, New Hebrides. The steamers Ulimaroa, 'Wimmera, and the Athenic will probably be within wireless range of Wellington, this evening. The Taviuni, which was recently sunk hi Sydney harbour in collision with the French steam.er Nera, and subsequently raised, has been repaired, and was to leave Sydney yesterday for Samoa.
