J Parr) made enquiry ihto municipal administration in the Empire City. Speaking to a reporter he remarked that in Mr. Morton Wellington had an engineer second to none in Australasia, and he had come to that conclusion after having seen all of them during the last two months. Whil* in Australia recently Mr. Parr said 'he saw tto better streets than those in Wellihgton. The four miles of wood blocking laid -down eight years ago showed no signs of wear, which was largely attributable to the coating of tar and sand they received every year or P two.
