A cay was taken over the new Custom-hotise-quay-General Poet Office tram line to-day, in order to test the special work. Tho line itself will not be opened to traffic until the wood-blocking is much .further advanced. Probably tho date cf the opening will be at the end of next month. Sir Robert Stout (Chief Justice) is expected to return from Mafitertoa, tomorrow afternoon. During the progress of the FlowerShow at the Sutt last evening Mr. E. D. Woodward, the late honorary secretary of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society, was presented with a handsome camera in recognition of the valuable service he had rendered the society for nearly four years.
