The box plans for tho first six performances of tlio Gay Gordons will be opened at the Dresden to-morrow tn6rtn ing at 9 o'clock. The company a-rrive from Sydney on Wednesday. They will be tendered a reception at tho (irand Hotel that night, and Friday night, »t the Opeiu House, will see the first appearance in 2*ew Zealand of tho company in '' The Gay Gordons. ' Messrs. Clarke and MeyneJl, under whose direction the company is being toured, have got together eighteen English principals, who are making their fewt appearance in the Dominion, and will include Frank Lincoln, Percy Clifton, Tom Graves, David Jefferton, Frank Compton, and Frank Oakden-BrooteS, Florence Irtteson, Nellie Cozens, Evelyn Aborn, Mabel Dark, and Nell Fintiis. "The Gay Gordons," the "management states, has rather a unique atmosphere for a musical play. Apart from the fact that it ia redolent of "the land o' cakes," it is dramatic in ite action, and aentitttent, and a love interest are attractively combined ih it. It ha« a spectacular element, too, introduced by th* lif* and colour imparted by a regiment of Gordon Highlander*, and throughout the opera, there is the skirl of'thfl bagpipes. The music is described *as catchy.
