The Development Cqmmis«ionerß were appointed una&r the Development and Road Improvement Funds Aete, to administer a national fund for the development of agriculture and other economic reeourcee of the United Kingdom. Grants are made by t the Treasury, on the recommendation of the Commissioners, from funds voted annually by Parliament, supplemented by &n annual grant of £500,000 for five jaawi from ihe Consolidated Fund.
