TIMARU HARBOUR BOARD,
TIMARU, 25th August. The Harbour Board to-day made sonic increases in the njonthly pay of the dredge officers in lieu of overtime pay as follows ;— Dredgemaster £30 1 sailingmaster £21, engineers £21 afid £18, laddermen £18. The engineer reports that the sand in the bay is growing 10ft a year. The low-Water mark is now 1700 ft from the end of the north mol&, but no check is needed at present. — THE WHOLESALE CLUB'S AFFAIRS. CHRISTCHURCH, 25th August. The Wholesale Club matter came up again before Mr. Justice Demikton, sitting in Chambers this morning, when Mr. Alpers, on behaH of certain creditors, asked for an order to the following effect :— "That the company be wound-up, subject to the provisions of the* courti ' "That the petitioning creditors" have ltberty Upon notice in Writing being given to examine the promoters and directors of the company on oath before the Official Assignee or the Registrar of the Court as the court may direct, and also the liberty for any of the creditors to apply to the court. "That subject to these conditions the company be wound up voluntarily." Mr. Alpers appeared for the petitioning creditors, Mr. Hunter for the creditors opposing the motion, Mr Vincent for another creditor, and Mr. Anthony for the company. After considerable argument, hie Honour reserved his decision.
