The Supreme Court was occupied to" day with the alleged attempted murder caae, la which John Owen wae charged with, (1) attempted mtird«r, (2) assault, (3) demanding money; with, menace*, (4) intimidation, all , arising out. of his ae* 1 Bdtilt on Augustus Percy Easton, at Motttoa, Foxtoti, on 21itfc April, 1906. Evidence was called as in the lower Court on lines already published ia The Post. Thd jury brought in & verdict of guilty of assault with intent to do grievous bodily h&rm. John Stella, farmer, Ohakune, wae charged with killing and stealing a pig the property of Martin. O'Driscoll, at R^agataua, on 14th July. Accused shot the pig with a pea rifie< on his- own la-nd and took it for a wild pig. Next night he was caught taking it away from the bush where he had shot it. The pig wad a pet of the owner. A considerable amount of evidence was given on both sides. The jury retired for one hour fifteen minuteSj and returned with .A verdict of not guilty. *
