PRISONERS SENTENCED.
THE MOUTOA ASSAULT CASE, t*t *JEtB6BAJ?S— -PBESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N., This Day. ' At the Supreme Court, Frank Brufoi'd, found guilty of false pretences at Hunterville, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. J. R. M'Gregor and A. S. Dickson, found guilty of theft trom the person, were admitted to probation for twelve months, and ordered to each pay 10s a month towards the cost of the prosecution. They were <ilso ordered to keep away from hotels and drink during the term of probation. Oohn Owen, found guilty of assault in connection with the Moutoa Case five years ago, in which be was charged with attempted murder, was sentenced to eighteen months' reftrmatory treatment, leniency being extended on account of a-n accident, which had partly destroyed his mental balance.
