In sinking the shaffc from No. 5 to No. 6 level the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company have intersectsd a quartz body in the shaft aO a depth of 106 ft to 110 ft bpJow No. 5 level. ii.bout 9ft of quartz, all of which is being sent to the mill, is ehowhig ia the floor of the shaft, and it seems probable that the discovery is to he identiaed with the quart* body met with about tOft to 80ft south of th© shaft in the main eouth-eaab crosscut, Th? indications point to the development being 011$ of considerable importance.
