THE PANTOMIME. "Jack and the Beanstalk" attracted another large audience at tho Opora HoiifSe last night, and once again the clever Pantzer Troupe gained enthuMastic applause for their exceptional acrobatics. There is much in the burlesque to amuse and more to please the eye. with the gay colourings of the coßtumes, the pretty dancing of the ballerintts, pad the effective marches. M!bs Alabelle Morgan, Miss Dorothy Firmin, Mr. Jack Cannot, Mr. Darrell, and Mr. W. 'Hassan all are strenuous in their endeavourß to t ehtertain. This aftetnoon a matinee is being held. The last night* of the production are announced. MR. WILLIAM ANDERSON'S COMPANY. th< On Monday evening Mr. Anderson's Dramatic Company will appear in Nat Gould's sporting sensation, "The Chance of a Lifetime. "A feature of the play will be the trained mare Trixie, which, climbs a long flight of stairs, and the race for the Gold Cup. "The Chance of & Lifetime," was staged for the first time M The King's Theatre, MeN bourne, under the direction of Mr, Anderson, the author (Nat Gould), and the producer (Mr. Frank Gerald). The company was Australian, also the scenery ahd the music. The box plan will be on view at the Dresdeh this mornihg. 'MUNICIPAL ORCHESTRA. This society resumed its practice last evening, every member being present. Mr. Maugha.li Barnett rehearsed very thoroughly the items chosen for the concert to be given on Tuesday next. An attractive programme has been decided on, comprising t works by those composers who have always been favourites with the public. Such works as Handel's "Largo," Schubert's "Fierrabras/' "Techaikowski'B "Dc-rnro&cheh" Valse, are always worth hearing. The second part of the coheert on Tuesday will consist entirely of the Works of Tschaikowski---his Valee "Dornroachen," "Capricco Italien," und selection oh the organ by Mr. Maughun B&rnctt. In order to complete the required number of concerts by the end of the twelve months, it has been pr&cticfelly decided that the next concert after Tuesday will be given oh the following Tuesday, 6th September, when Beethoven's piano concerto will again be performed. BOYS' LEAGUE BAND. The Australia. TioyV League Band and Entertainers, who are en i-oute for America, arrived by the Moer&kt ftom Sy<L itey to-day, This afternoon a reception j was held in the V.M.C.A. Buildings, i and was presided over by the Minister of Education. To-night the Wellington Gainsoi) Band and the Boy Scouts will <-scort the Leaguo Boy* from the V.M.C.A. to the Town Hall, wherethey give a performance in conjunction with West's Pictures, Ltd. The young performers have appeared with success in Australia. The programme has tieen urrangeil especially as a demonstration of what they will present while on tour. West's Pictures, Ltd., have prepared it programme of pictures which will in* | elude many new and novel subjects, inj eluding the drama "East Lyhhe." The programme of the week Bt the Theatre Royal is of good all-round merit and popular with lovers of VRndeville. The bill-of-fare includes the turns by Keldire -and , Klimo, trick cyclist*, Star and Leslie, singing comedians and jugglers, _ ahd Harland and Rolliason, eccentric comedians. THE NEW THEATRE. Large audiences are being attracted to The King's Theatre by the meritof the pictures now being shown, which include one 6i the investiture of the Prince of Wales at Carnarvon Castle. STAR PICTURES. The ncenic and topical pictures at St/. Thomas's Hall, combined with the exciting and romantic dramas and amusing comedies, make up an engaging pro* gramme.
