MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr. W. G. Ridctell, &.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Minnie firowa, who importuned passers-by in Victoria-street last evening, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. John Brady was fined 20s, with the. option of seven days' detention, for drunkenness, and for a similar offence a first offender was convicted and discharged. Henry Bennett, a s&ilor on the Tongatiro, was fined 40s, and ordered to pay witnesses' expenses, 12s, for assaulting Charles W. Baker, a cod'k on the vessel, The alternative was three days' imprison, inent, Abraham Barshfc's application for a pawnbroker's license was granted. At the Petone Court this morning, a first offender, for being drunk, was convicted aud discharged.
