LODGE MEETINGS.

On Thursday evening, in connection with the Court Epuni Lodge (Petotte), the Foresters played the Druids at cards for the challenge shield. Tho game resulted, Foresters 46, Druids 61. the Drnids, therefore, winning by 15 games. There were present twenty-five Foresters and the earn© number of Druids. Tho Foresters weTe tho hosts. Speeches w*ro made by the A.D. of the Poneke Lodge, who spoke of the evening as being one of the most pleasant he had attended. Fate was apparently against the Foresters, but in. the near future the Druids would ehterta,in their friends, and he hoped that the Foresters would gain the shield. The evening was brought to a close by the Druids giving three cheers for the Foresters. Th© Sunbeam Juvenile Temple, No. 30, 1.0. G.T., held its weekly meeting in tho presence of Bro. C. G. Petherick, superintendent, Bro. H. ' Cooper presiding. It being the last meeting night in the quarter the election of officers was held. The following were elected : C.T., Sis. R. Townley; V.T., Sis. Dobson; chap., Sis. H. Hill; P.C.T., Sis. N. Webb; asst. sec, Bro. ft. Wilson; harmony committee, Sisters JE. J«nsen, W. Spencer, Petersen, and R. Townley, Bros 1 . H. Grondin, P. Scorringe, and W. Dobson. The regular meeting of the Perseverance Tent, No. 6. 1.0. R., was hold in th© Rechabite Chambers. Bro. R. Burton, P.C.R.,- presided. The Social Committee submitted a, syllabus for tho next. six months, which was adopted. It wa« decided to hold the annual euchre party and danc© early in September. The past quarter has been the most progressive in the history of the Tent. The officers for the next half-year are as follow:—P.C.E., Bro.*R. Burton; C.R., Bro. H. P. Edwards; D.R,, Bro. Hairy Smith ; secretary, Bro. R. A. Ferguson ; treasurer, Bro. C. S. Kelly; 8.5., Bro. J. B. Haddon; C.S., Bro. C. W. Nattrass; levite, Bro. W«i, Johnson ; guardian. Bro. L. Wilson. The Southern Cross and Zealandia Lodges held a combined "social" in the New Century Hall last evening. The hall was tastefully decorated with flags and ferns, and the evening proved a most enjoyable one. \ Bro. J. Beck, tne secretary of Southern Cross Lodge, gave a short address, after which a vote of thanks was passed to the committee for their services.
