ROWING.
ANNUAL MEETING WELLINGTON ■ CLUB. The annual meeting of the Wellington Rowing Club was held in the club s l-ooms last nvening, Mr. W. J. Gardiner presiding. A motion of sympathy was passed in •respect to the illncs*. of tho secretary (Mr. A. N. Mathieson). Mr. Mathicson, who wa-s recently operated on for appendicitis, sent a telegram to tho effect that ho was progressing favourably. The annual report aad balance sheet, .a precis of which has already appeared in The Post, was read and adopted, and the following officers wero elected ; - President, Mr. W. J. Nidd ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. J. Hutcheson, J. Trevor, W. Allen, W. J. Firkins, E. Morris, W, H. P, Barber, A. Orr, and the Hon. jT. W. Hislop ; captain, W. J. Gaudin ; vicd-captnin, A. W. Jackson; committee, Messrs. H. Wadmin, C. J. Symonds, F. Lacey, J, Hoare, W. Hoar«, A. Butler, and H. M'Kinleyj hon. secretary, Mr. A. N. Mathieson ; hon. treasurer, Mr. B. Shaw ; auditors, Messrs. G. Read and A. J. Bishop ; selection committee, Messrs. S. 'Shilling, H. A. M'Kinley, and A. N. Mathieson; ra.ee committee. Messrs. J. Hoare, A. Butler, and W. Hinchcliffe ; delegates to Wellington Rowing Association, Messrs. W. J. Nidd, W. J. Gaudin, and A. N. Mathieson. The question of obtaining from the City Council a leaee of the shed on which the boat-shed stands was brought op by the chairman. He understood that a new lease which had been drawn up' was now only awaiting signature. The club could not, however, get the matter definitely fixed up. There were SCO rowers belonging to clubs, in Weiington, and j seeing the large amount of consideration in the shape of expenditure given to other sports' bodies in Wellington, he failed to see why the club should not be allowed to retain the present site of its sheds'.
