CLOSES TO-NIGHT, The Wellington Industrial Association'g Exhibition of New Zealand Manu. f actures closes to-day. The flftahcial resuits, considering the large expenditure, are understood to have been eminently satisfactory. Notwithstanding & fairly long spell of unpleasant weather, the attendance, has kept remarkably well. The visitors from the country have not been so numerous as was desirable, nevertheless they have materially contributed to swell the numbers passing the turnstiles. School-children have comiT from as far off as Marlborough. and Wairarapa, and Manawatu school-children have also been taken to the Exhibition. t Tho paper-bag cooking demonstra> tion by Mrs, Forster Denny at the GasCompany's exhibit yesterday attracted an unusually large number of ladies. Fuller reference to this event is made I elsewhere. Miss Henshelwood gives tt pager-bag flookifiß display this evening. From 2.50 to 4 p.m. to-day a children 8 carnival, with liberal pri2es. was held in the Stadium. This evening a fancy dress carnival for grown-ups will b© held in the Stadium, a full orchestra supplying the music, and £50 will be I distributed in prizes. All in fancy dress will be admitted free. t To every 1000 th person paying at , the turnstiles a gold filled watch will be given, aa the vratchw vrett> given away i last Sattraay, A prize of £5 is offered to the person who estimates the nearest total attendance to-day. A demonstration of the new patent gas mangling and ironing machine will j be given at the Gas Company's ex- | hibit this evening. Mr. W. G. Baker's art union will be drawn this evening, The Executive Commissioners offer 800 Austrian bentwood chairs, used in the Coronation Concert Hall. A PRESENTATION. Mr. H (> H. Seaton was yesterday presented with a geld albert by the proj moteTS of Exhibitors' Day, which provjed sttch a great financial Success. It was Mr. Seaton who organised the enterprise, and highly complimentary references to his foresight and business ability were made by Mr. H. W. Lloyd, who mad.c the presentation on behalf of the exhibitors concerned. Opportunity was taken also to mention in compliniL'h' tary terms Mr. Seaton's work done In v-wnnection with the Industrial Association generally. Mr. N. W. Bell (Waipa Colliery, Company) endorsed Mr. Lloyd's remarks. In reply, Mr. Se&ton expressed his complete surprise at the gift. He looked for no reward for the small aseistance he had. been able to render. He waraly thanked the exhibitors for their gift.
