At the wool sales 86,000 bales were sold for the Home market; 46,000 bales for the Continent 5 2500 bales for America ; and 41,000 bake were held over. , As compared with the May series, merinos closed fully at par, except short carbonising sorts, which were slightly easier. Fine greasy crossbreds advanced five per cent., and lower grade sorts, were very firm at par; scoureds declined fby about ten per cent. Crossbred lambs were slightly in eellers 1 fay. our, and merinos about live per centum dearer. The sales included the following New Zealand brands :— -Denall, lid; Langridge, top price, 9^d ; average price, Sid; Grasmere. 22£ d and 21id. (Received duly 28, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 27th July. At the wool sales elipes declined from 5 to 7± per cent. t The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received ths. .following cablegram from their London house, under date 26th instant!—" The wool sales closed with good competition. The tota.l quantity sold was 134,000 bales; 46,000 bales were taken for the Continent, and 2000 bales for America. Forty-one thousand were held over." . OFFICIAL REPORT. The Commerce and Tourists Division ot the Department of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London, £7th July, 1911, regarding th& closing of the fourth series of the Colonial wool sales : —• "The wool sales have closed. A good demand, Home and Continental, for all grades of greasy wool. Prospects are favourable although considerable quantity urtoifersd, '"Twenty-nine thousand bales of New Zealand wool are held over. Estimated value : —Superior merino, 1b to Is 2d per lb ; medium, lOd to ll^d ; inferior, Bd to 9£d ; fine crossbreds, Hid to Is 2d; medium, 9d to lid; course croesbfeds, 8d to lOd."
