WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL TRIBUTE

A sympathetic resolution was adopted by th<J City Council last evening. Councillor J, Smith (Deputy Mayor) said it was his painful duty to announce that Mr. T. E Taylor* M.P., had passed away. He played a. very important part in the affairs of the Dominion, and had he been able to live another ten or twenty years 1 he would probably have been the greatest* man in New Zealand. Mf. Taylor Had great ability and the perseverance to carry on the work that came before him. The council should express its sympathy with the widow and bereaved family primarily, and secondarily with the Christchurch City Council. Deceased was a young man, and his, services werd greatly required. The motion in the direction indicated was carried, all standing, and as a mark at sympathy and mpect th* council adjourned consideration, of business for a short interval.
