AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
Mr. S. i. Whitcombe presided over Wednesday's meeting of the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. A heartj vote of thanks was accorded The King's Theatre proprietary for the recent benefit, which realised £23 8s 6d. A team is to be sent to compete at the cross-country harrier championships at Auckland on 12th August. The sum of £28 was voted towards the expenses. There was a difference of opinion between the Wellington and Brooklyn Harriers as to the date of the five-mile test for selection in the representative team. The date was fixed at sth August.
Thoughts of Crowns and the Cognation fill the air and foster the spirit of loyalty so apparent in every Britisher.
