Baker left Wairekei station, with the intention of walking to 'Sotortta. They got lost in the bush, and for four days lived on berries. They managed to reach the head of Waiksre' moana, 30 mile* from the Lake House, <m Sunday morning, and built a raft, as ihree of them were sailors. Higgins and Baker embarked on the raffc to cro&s ,the lake, but Robinson and Townsend decided to walk. .Robinson and TownJend reached Lake House this morning, but there are no tidings of the men on the raft. It is feared they have been lost. The lake was very rough at the ,time. Search parties are now out.
