In continuation of the race for the Daily Mail £10,000 prize, M, Beaumont left Edinburgh at 3.10 a.m. yesterday, and arrived at Bristol (383 miles) at 8.3? p.m. M. Vedrines left at 3.25 a.m., and arrived at 9 p.m., but landed half a mile from tho aerodrome, which was reached at 10,10 p.m. M. Beaumont is now leading by 65 minutes. HINDERED BY RAINSTORMS. COMPETITORS "DRIVEN OUT OF THEIR COURSE. (Received July 27, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 26th July. MM. Beaumont and Vedrines had <i splendid race throughout the day, They were seldom far apart. Both arrived at the various stoppingplaces dazed and half-numb, having been driven out of their couTses by torrential rainstorms and violent gusty winds, M. Vedrines lost fifty minutes through losing his Way, and having t6 descend three titnea to enquire, his whereabouts. M. Beaumont raced find easily beat the Scotch express while crossing Sh&p Fells, in the Lake district. It is possible the race will finish this afternoon. M. BEAUMONT THE WINNER. (Received July 27, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 26th July. M. Beaumont won the Daily Mail aviation priae. THE LAST STAGE. AN EXCITING CONTEST. (Received July 27, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 26th July. M. Vedrines and M. Beaumont left Bristol within a. couple of minutes of each other. There was a terrific contest for th© leadership. After touching Exeter and crossing the Salisbury Plains, M. Vedrinee recovered 1120 seconds on the run to Brighton. Tho la&t 6tage to BrooklaittLs Was safely negotiated. M. Beaumont completed the circuit in 22 hours 16.98 minutes. M. Vedrines took 70 minutes longer.
