ST. VINCENT'S CADETS.
Tile first annual dinner of the St. Vincent badet Cofp was held at Ood* ber's Rooms, Cuba-street, last evening. Captain Dwah presidedi a!id those pfe' sent included Major Hughes, Rev. Father Venhing (chaplain of the corp), Messrs. W. E. Btttler, E. J. Fitagibbon. T. Dwan, L. Dwan, D, It. La-wlor, and th& captains of the St. Anne's and Marist Bros.' Cadets. Apologies were re* ceived from Captain Robinson and Mr. Martin Kennedy for their unavoidable absence. During the evening many toasts were honoured, and many references Were made to the necessity of compulsory military training. Mr. Fitzgibbon, in proposing the toast of the company, remarked on the progress made since its establishment. The medal given by ex-Captain, M'Nantafa for tho best sftot of the company, was won by Lance-Corporal Tandy. During the evening items were contributed by Major Hughes, W. E. Butler, F. and A. Dwan, D. R. Lawlor, P. Dee, and C. l^nfiell. Mr. Scrimgeour acted as pianist.
