PURE SEEDS.

The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. T. Mackenzie) informed the Farmers' Conference yesterday that he has a Pure Seeds Bill drafted, though it has not yet been submitted to Cabinet. The question of providing for purity in seeds nad, however, to be dealt with by stages, and eventually they would reach, the time when care would be taken in selecting by virtue of means of production, etc. As a matter of fact, the Government at the present time ■ was testing considerable quantities of seeds lor merchants.
