CELEBRATIONS IN WELLINGTON

HINTS TO SIGHTSEERS AND VISITORS. • From day to day ample explanations have been made in the columns of this paper of the arrangements for fittingly celebrating the Coronation, and it is not necessary therefore, on the eve of the ceremony, to glvn more than a brief outline of thf day's programme, so | that the public will know what to do. and what is expected of it for the good order of procession and the huge crowds which— weather permitting — will gather at Newtown Park in the afternoon and evening. Commencing in the early morning the order of events may be summarised as follow* : — His Excellency motors to Cathedral, returning to Government House; escort to be in waiting at Government House 11.16 a.m. Territorials and Senior Cadets at Buckle-street move off in time to be in position on parade line, New town Park, before 11.20 a.m. Royal Navy party disembarks at Boat Harbottf,, Clyde-quay, and awaits at Ellice-skeet, Basin Reserve, to head Territorials to Newtown Park. Junior Cadets to be in position on parade line before 11.16 a.m. The procession will leave the Basin Reserve at 10.45 a.m. and the troops are due at the review ground at 11.30. Members of friendly societies, sports bodies, etc., taking part in the proceßsion will meet at •Cambridge-terrace at 10 a.m., and form np facing the Basin Reserve, and commencing at St. Patrick's College wfll keep in the following order :~ Navy League members. Boy Scout*. ' Salvation Army Band. Hibernian Society. British United Oddfellows. Ancient Order of Oddfellows, independent Order of Oddfellow*, ions and Daughters of Temperance. Advance in review order and order arms. Speech by Hie Excellency. Speech by the Acting-Prime Minister. Speech by the Acting-Mayor. Old Hundredth (one verse). Lord's Prayer. Royal salute, all join in singing "God Save the King." 0.0. Troops, Colonel Chaytor, will call for three cheers for The King. Royal' salute as His Excellency drives away. 4 r A civil procession is to muster in Cambridge-terrace and will follow after troops, proceeding onto Terrace at south end of park. POINTS TO BE OBSERVED Carriages or motor cars (except thoeo of Hia Excellency, Acting-Prime Minister, and 'the Acting-Mayor) will not proceed in^fde the park gates ; occupants will alight outside gate. Carriages to then turn into Roy-etreet. Ticket holders for reserved seats will present their tickets to the orderlies at entrance to seated enclosure on western side of park; all should be seated by 11.45 a.m. Tho Roy-Daniel-ekreet entrance to the park will be open, and it is requested that as many citizens as poasible should use- this entrance to relieve the pressure at main gates. The terraces and rising ground (except seated enclosure, and terrace on southend reserved for procession) will be open to the public, who, are respectfully requested to take up their pabitions. as they arrive, and not wait about on the roadway round the park. The public will not be admitted on to the flat ground on which the troops are to be reviewed. IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER. Should the day prove too wet to hold review, the D Battery will fire salute. The Territorial force will by 11.30 a.m. occupy the Garrison Hall and the cadets the Town Hall. The signal for thus will be' at 10 a.m'. — three guns fired from warship and red flag hoisted below Union Jack on Town- Hall and Alexandra Barracks. , AFTERNOON AND EVENING. In the afternoon and evening there will be a free entertainment by the combined biograph companies for children in the Town Halt. The evening celebrations will include a patriotic concert in the Town Hall and a grand military tattoo, at Athletic Park. No doubt many visitors will take the opportunity of vkiting the Exhibition. All the theatre* in the town also have attractions to place before the public.
