The report of the Scottish Agricultural Commissioners, who recently visited Australia, declares that dependence on single men is one of the most undesirable features of Australian country life. The demand for married childless couple& is another objectionable phase. The speak highly of the agricultural high schools^ and urge the need for better co-ordination in scientific research work. They also refer to want of method in placing newcomers on the land and helping them to get a proper start. On tho whole Australia is a good . dairyman's country. The commissioners conclude by Baying that it is curious that few of the wealthy industrial bodies of Australia have done anything for agricultural education.
