CARTERT ON NOTES.
[BS TELEQHATH — SPECIAL TO TSS POST.] OART,ERTON, 13th May. A concert in aid of tho recreation fund of the Belvedere State School was held last night, and largely attended. A splendid programme of vocal and musical items was rendered, and an enjoyable dance was held at the close. A floor has just been put down in the Gymnasium building m Hollowayetreet, and is a considerable improvement to the building. It will now doubtless be- made more use of. Several of the local factories have been busy during the past few days shipping cheese away to the Home market. A small fence and pair of gates have been erected on the southern side of the railway "platform. . The work was one of necessity for public safety, for the platform, being high, made a dangerous drop to the ground, and more than one person has found this out rather forcibly. My. W. C. Buchanan, M.P., is to address the electors at the Victoria Hall en Tuesday evening next. In all probability a branch of the Wairarapa Egg Circle will be formed in Greytown. *
