Dickineon.) has resigned on the ground of pressing private affairs. Mr. Henry Stimeon, the irecently-de-'feated Republican candidate for the Governorship of New York, has been appointed hie successor. [Mr.. Dickson, has been Secretary of War since 4th March, 1909. He was born in 1840 and is a lawyer by profession. Mr. Stimeon, also a lawyer, was born at Now York in 1867, and educated at Yale and Harvard. From 1906 to 1909 he was United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.]
