It has been finally decided to hold Feilding's first modern ploughing match on. 28th June in Mr. Wm. .Reid's paddock at Makino. Mr. Ernest Short has undertaken to provide a 1 free N lunch for all visitors. Messrs. W. J. Phillips, J. Noiihcott, O. M'Ekoy, A. Campbell, and H. J. Booth have been appointed judges. Tie Government has had a new valuation mad© of Bartholomew 'b bush, which is wanted for a scenic reserve for Feilding. There ii still a. eubatantial differ--ence 'between the revised price wanted by the owners and the Government valuation. The Feildihg Borough Council has decided to again approach the local bodies in this district with a viow to getting granta towards the cost of the bush.
