RAIN PROBABLE.

Following on the splendid weather yesterdaj, 10-day is in great contrast, and leal wintry. There was a heavy dew last night, frosts in the suburbs, and this morning the low-lying portions of the town were enveloped iv mist. The sun found difficulty iv piercing the haze. A falling barometer is forecasted, with heavy rain and stormy weather in all parts of the country.

By the Rotorua yesterday Mr. Ernest Short, of Feilding, imported two valuable Hereford bulls. Both stood the long voyage well. One is Goldfinder, a fifteen. montlis bull, bred by Mr. J. H. Price, of Abercray, Trecastle, Brecon. Eaton Oak is eleven months old, and was bred by Mr. C. T. Pulley, of Lower Eaton, Hereford. The Poneke Lodge, U.A.0.D.. held its fortnightly meeting at Petone last evening, uro. Ridge presiding. Sick pay (£8) was paseed for payment. Tho Druids' Sports Association intimated that a, card tourney and dance will be held shortly. The lodge decided to meet at 7.30 p.m. doling the winter months. The D.P. attended iv his official capacity, and P. D.P. Bro. CunlifTo was a visitor from the Star of New Zealand Lodge. Arrangements for the annual lodge "social " are now in the hands of a strong committee. Patrick Hennessy, aged fifty, was admitted to the Hospital to-day.
