Further particular? regarding the wreck of the Portuguese steamer Lu&itania, 5557 tons gross, at Cape Point, during a mist, are available. The steamer ran on to the rocks in/ the moonlight, and was crippled in the bow and otherwise damaged. j The suddenness of the disaster tkcew all hands into confusion, but there waa no panic. j There were two hundred . and fifty ' natives on board. They behaved admirably, j Some of the Europeans rushed the boats before the women arid ehilctewn had been comfortably stowed aw£y. The women were scantily clad, soime having only blankets and stockings on in addition to their, night attire. Passengers and crew, numbering 800, were landed in a famished condition. A fog made difficult* the 'rescue bjr the British cruiser Forte and a tug. Three persons were drowned. The Lusitania has disappeared.
