THE WANGANUI VISITORS. The visit of the Wanganui bowlers to Wellington has been considerably spoiled by the weather. Saturday mining's ma.tch.es were distinctly "off," but the weather » cleared somewhat during the afternoon, when the Wellington Club's green was prepared for pla-y. No scores were kept, but the visitors won by several points. This morning the visitors played Thorndon, the scores being : — Thomdon : Alillington, Burdekin, Freeman, Hogben (ekip), 28; Wanganai : Gilbert, Battle, Nairn, M'Farlane (skip), 12. Thorndon : Stophenson, Ronaldson, Seaton, M'EMowney (skip), 27; Wanganui: Wright, Smith, Atkinson, Robertson (skip), 14. Thorndon: Slater, Gamble, Hatch, G. F. Wilson (skip), 30 ; Wanganui : James, Pettigrew, Collins, Rodwell £kip), 19. This afternoon the visitors are playing Victoria. INTER-STATE MATCH. NEW. SOUTH WALES v. QUEENSLAND. The Taranaki. bowling team, in a tworink practice match agaiiist Waverley, were defeated by two points, Waverley • scoring 48 and Taranaki 46. A Press Association telegram from Palmerston North states that at the bowling tournament there on Saturday, Wylie (Petone) won the full rink match, with Leighton (To Hiwi) runner-up. Owing to rain the Pairs matches could not be started, but will be played to-day.
